This event has not yet been scheduled pending the Mayor lifting the emergency order that does not allow outdoor festivals during the COVID-19 health crisis.
WHEN: Saturday June 19 4-8PM. The kick-off will be held at Stoddert Elementary’s front porch and feature neighborhood favorite Crush Funk Band! W and 39th street will host an additional stage for artists who may need a porch to borrow and host the closing performance. To contribute to funding Crush Funk to play click here.
WHO/HOW: Sign up to be added to the lineup and participate! We look forward to hearing the diversity of Glover Park’s musical abilities- unplugged, amplified or a cappella– rock, jazz, classical, funk, R & B, folk or? We can’t wait to hear!

This coming Saturday from 7-11am you can bring things like insecticides, lawn and garden products, bleach, old computers and cell phones to our truck, which will be parked on Huidekoper Place at the corner of Benton Street (north side.) We’ll be deliverying them to the Department of Public Works (DPW) recycling station at Benning Road. We’ll accept items until the truck is full. Please check this list: Acceptable/Prohibited Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Items | dpw (dc.gov) and make sure to follow the guidance. We won’t be able to take anything that DPW may reject. This is not a bulk trash collection and we won’t be able to take any construction debris either. Paint is acceptable, but keep in mind that our local Sherwin-Williams paint store (corner of Wisconsin and S St.) accepts paint for recycling, too.
This is your chance to get rid of chemicals and electronic clutter before winter sets in!
Many thanks to those who have volunteered to help with this event. We can always use extra help, so please contact me if you want to assist!
