Glover Park Halloween Parade

Inviting ALL our little witches, monsters, and ghosts to join in the Glover Park Halloween Parade brought to you by the Glover Park Citizens’ Association! It’s fun for all ages and strollers and wagons are welcome!  We hope you join us or cheer us on from your porches!

To get a sense of how many families will be participating, please register here: https://forms.gle/u31E1ejTrio6xw15A. You do not need to register to participate, but it would help with planning if you could.

When: Sunday, October 31st

Time:  Parade line-up will be at 5pm.  We will start marching promptly at 5:15pm.

Where: Parade start will be at Stoddert Elementary close to the stairs by the Stoddert sign on the Calvert Street side and will make a short loop through the neighborhood. Exact route below.
***All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

 

Spooktacular Home Decorating Contest!

Hey Glover Park! Drag your Halloween decorations out of storage! Bring your creepy creativity, your ghoulish visions, or your love of pumpkins, scarecrows and all things Fall– we want to see them all! Enter the Spooktacular Home Decorating Contest brought to you by the Glover Park Citizens Association. The contest is open to all Glover Park residents. By participating in the contest, your home will be placed on our Glover Park Halloween Tour Map to entertain local goblins. Decorations installed by a professional service will not be eligible. Entries will be posted for the public to vote on. Every winner gets a prize for their mastery, a photo in the next Glover Park Gazette and bragging rights. We can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with this year!

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

The contest is open to all Glover Park residents. Registration is FREE. Voting will begin on Sunday, October 24th so be sure your home is ready for consideration by then!  REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!!

PRIZES

Every winner gets a prize for their mastery, a photo in the next Glover Park Gazette and bragging rights. Winners will be announced Saturday, October 30th. Be sure to visit the winners on Halloween!

Judging Guidelines

Entry must be Halloween-themed.

May not contain adult themes. Family friendly please.

Decorations installed by a professional service will not be eligible.

Decorations may include (but are not limited to):

  • window displays (inside or outside)
  • front porch displays
  • entrance ways
  • yard displays
  • balconies
  • roof displays

Looking for a scary good time?! Walk/Drive by the most SPOOKTACTULAR homes in Glover Park and check out these haunted displays. And remember…. it’s always best when displayed in the dark (dusk until 9:00 p.m.)

VOTING

Vote for your favorite home for each category. Voting begins Sunday, October 24th. A link to the voting form will be included with the map of the entries on the Glover Park Listserv on Saturday, October 23rd.

GPCA Meetings

GPCA meetings are held on the first Tuesday of most months.
There is no meeting in June, July, August or December.
Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the cafeteria at Stoddert Elementary School and Glover Park Community Center
